Nevin Miller has been practicing family law since 2005, handling hundreds of divorce, custody, visitation and child and spousal support cases. He is well versed in managing clients who might be distraught or emotional while dealing with the process of divorce and its associated issues.

He has handled complex divorces involving millions of dollars in real estate and business assets, as well as cases involving international custody disputes. He has just as much experience in handling smaller family law cases, many times representing low-income parties who are disabled, seasonal workers or minimum wage earners. He is also able to identify and handle special issues related to representing military families.

Miller also represents clients involved in domestic violence cases and is familiar with the impact and issues restraining orders have in relation to family law matters such as support, custody, and visitation. Miller has experience in establishing or terminating guardianships, as well as handling step-parent and grandparent adoption cases.

Miller received his bachelor’s degree in 2000 from California State University Sacramento, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in San Francisco in 2004.

Miller most recently spent eight months as an Associate Attorney for Whipple, Mercado & Associates in San Ramon, California.

Miller is a member of the State Bar of California and State Bar of California Family Law Section, as well as the Monterey County, Contra Costa County and Alameda County bar associations and Monterey County Bar Association Family Law Section.

Miller is married with a daughter. When not practicing law, he participates in Iaido, the Japanese martial art of swordsmanship. Iaido requires dedication, discipline, patience and awareness, which are traits he brings to the practice of family law.
